Paul Pittman, Ph.D.

Chair

Paul Pittman, Ph.D., CPIM-F, CSCP-F, is a professor at Indiana University Southeast, where he teaches supply chain and operations management. He also has an extensive consulting career working with firms around the world in executive leadership development and decision-making, as well as supply chain management and process improvement. Pittman has led and served on several ASCM committees and councils and presented at numerous North American and international events. He has published articles in multiple publications, including ASCM’s SCM Now magazine, and was a coeditor for several editions the ASCM Dictionary. Pittman is a graduate of the Terry School of Business at the University of Georgia.

Michael Bunge, CPIM, CSCP, is vice president of global supply chain and operations at Hamilton Beach Brands, where he leads a team of more than 450 associates, implementing common metrics and aligning operations to create a stable platform for growth. Through transformational cost-saving solutions and best-in-class operations, he positions the supply chain organization as a revenue and profitability driver. Bunge has significant experience with SCOR-DS and ERP implementation, building strategic sourcing practices and capabilities, business development and innovation, and business turnaround and transformation.

James D. Hess, CSCP, oversees global reverse logistics at Google LLC. He maintains and retires one of the world's largest in-service fleets of IT hardware. Responsible for global returns, repair and recycling operations, Hess orchestrates an omnichannel network to provide extended lifecycle management and retirement for over one million IT hardware devices. Prior to his tenure at Google, he served in the United States Army for 25 years. Hess holds bachelor's degrees in history and communications from the University of Toledo, an M.S. in logistics management from the Florida Institute of Technology, an M.A. in military studies from the United States Marine Corps University, and an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.

Amy Augustine, CSCP, is senior director of network supply chain at U.S. Cellular, where she successfully led an organizational transformation of the company’s network supply chain operations. She is responsible for a team of 25 associates and 30 contractors and has ownership and responsibility for all procurement activities, planning and forecasting, logistics and inventory operations. In addition, Augustine oversees 6 warehouses across the United States with approximately $150 million in average in inventory. She is a dynamic supply chain leader and has spent more than 20 years in both the industry and as a consultant.

Previously, she was vice president of product marketing and go-to-market for Nulogy, and has held top positions at companies including Versuen, Infor, Berry Global, Mead Johnson Nutrition and Whirlpool. Barnhart has been recognized as one of the top women in supply chain by Supply and Demand Chain Executive several times. She brings to the ASCM board of directors nearly 20 years of experience in supply chain strategy, operations, digital transformation, strategic planning, logistics, innovation and product development.

Schwiesow also attended the Tuck Executive Education at Dartmouth in 2023, completing the SCTE-Tuck Executive Leadership Program. Schwoyer has more than 20 years of Fortune 500 consumer goods experience in procurement, sales and operations planning, supply and demand planning, commercialization, new product launch, logistics, process improvements, and project management. She holds an MBA from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor's of Science from the Pennsylvania State University.

Chief Executive Officer

Abe Eshkenazi, CSCP, CPA, CAE is chief executive officer at ASCM, the largest organization for supply chain and the global pacesetter of organizational transformation, talent development and supply chain innovation. During his tenure, ASCM has significantly expanded its services to corporations, individuals and communities; its revenue has more than doubled; and three mergers were completed in response to heightened industry awareness and the vast and ongoing global impact of supply chains. Previously, Eshkenazi was managing director of the Operations Consulting Group of American Express Tax and Business Services. Eshkenazi holds a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University, Kellogg Graduate School of Management; a Master of Business Administration from DePaul University; and a bachelor’s degree in business from Northeastern Illinois University.

Prior to ASCM, Goodlove served as the senior vice president of digital communications for Dairy Management Inc., a non-profit organization representing America’s dairy farmers under the oversight of the United States Department of Agriculture. Goodlove was named one of the top 25 social business global leaders by The Economist, and she was one of IBM’s VIP Futurists reimagining the future of work. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in communication from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

Douglas J. Kent is the executive vice president of corporate and strategic alliances at ASCM. He oversees ASCM’s corporate member community, global training partners, North American chapters, academic relationships, and industry and technology collaborators. He is also responsible for growing and strengthening ASCM’s alliances with nongovernmental organizations and its community-based objectives. Kent has more than 35 years of transformational advisory and practitioner experience with large multi-national organizations. He specializes in transformations based on the Supply Chain Operations Reference Digital Standard (SCOR-DS), supply chain strategy and segmentation, supply chain planning, enterprise risk optimization and supply chain visibility. As an APICS certified SCOR-DS master instructor, he leads workshops, education and transformational programs around the globe. Kent holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Indiana University and a master’s degree in international business from Pepperdine University.

Jeff Zettek is the executive vice president and chief financial officer at ASCM, where he is responsible for the accounting and financial aspects of planning, reporting, governance and strategy initiatives. Zettek has more than a decade of diversified finance and accounting experience, having worked in a wide variety of industries and enterprises, ranging from small, privately held organizations to large, multinational public companies. His previous experience includes acquisition and divestiture due diligence; planning and analysis; strategy, financial and management reporting; internal and external audit functions; and fraud investigations. Prior to joining ASCM, Zettek worked in KPMG’s transaction services practice group after transferring from its risk advisory service group. Zettek has a Bachelor of Science in accounting from the Northern Illinois University - College of Business.

Chris Carrier is vice president of technology at ASCM, which involves overseeing information technology (IT) activities, as well as developing and executing customer-focused internet solutions and strategic business plans. With extensive experience in web design and development, Carrier began his work at ASCM by designing, coding and implementing the organization website and microsites, eventually moving into project and technology management. During his tenure, the IT team has doubled in size and continues to expand to facilitate increasing digital needs. Carrier is certified in Information Technology Infrastructure Library, Scrum Alliance SMC and Microsoft — and is a Certified Association Executive. He holds a political science degree from the University of Kentucky.

Executive Vice-President, Human Resources & General Counsel

Gina DeCiani, J.D., is ASCM’s general counsel and vice president of human resources. During her tenure, she has revamped and revitalized the human resources function; led the implementation of new human resources information, performance management and contract life cycle management systems; developed succession plans; and conducted compensation studies. In 2016, she spearheaded the organization’s effort to obtain its first certification as a Great Place to Work, which has been maintained since that time. In 2020, DeCiani took over the role of interim general counsel and assumed the role officially the following year. She is coauthor of several texts about professional ethics, including “Legal Ethics for Nonlawyers” and “The Law Office.” She holds a bachelor's in business administration from the University of Illinois - Urbana-Champaign and a masters in writing for children and young adults from Hamline University.

Prior to her current role, Welch was director of credentialing services at the Center for Credentialing and Education and served in the United States Navy as an aviation electronics technician. She holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of North Carolina – Greensboro and a master’s degree in public administration in nonprofit management and leadership from Walden University.

Kathleen Schroeder is vice president of membership at ASCM, where she leads the development and execution of innovative strategies that drive engagement and membership growth. With a deep understanding of corporate and individual member needs, Schroeder works to ensure valuable team and individual benefits, comprehensive professional development opportunities and strong peer networks.  A dedicated leader in the association space, she also actively volunteers with the ASAE and Association Forum and was honored with the prestigious Forty Under 40 award in 2019. She holds a degree in marketing from Iowa State University College of Business.
